"What do you want, Jon?" his mom asked him, glaring angrily at him. She was dressed in an AC/DC shirt and cargo pants that were both too large for her, though they seemed resistant to falling off. "I could still be sleeping right now."

"Don't talk to me like that," he chided gently. "I'm your son and you need to show me some respect, no matter how tired you are. You've got to get started on cleaning up my room. It's an absolute mess and I'm tired of looking at it." He sighed as she groaned dramatically, crossing his arms low on his chest and staring at her until the theatrics were done. "Well, get to it."

His mom heaved a huge sigh and turned around to go into his room, closing the door loudly behind her. He made a mental note to check on her later, but until then he went to his sister's room where his dad was sitting at Zoe's vanity. His dad didn't seem to notice him, engrossed as he was in applying the contrasting makeup to his face, sitting there in black bra and panties with a black and purple lace dress laid out on the bed behind him.

When he noticed Jon, he jumped. "Jon! I told you not to come in without asking! I could be naked or something."

"Sorry, sweetie," he said, genuine. "I'll let you finish up, just peek your head out the door when you're done." With that, he slipped back out, standing against the wall by the door.

"Chyeah, thanks," his dad said as he left. Just as Jon was getting tired of waiting, his dad came out, dress tight against his chest and ballooning outward down to his knees in an explosion of lace and ruffles. "Yeah, Jon?"

"Now, I know you're going to want to go out with your friends, but there are things around the house you have to do first. For starters, gather up all the clothes lying around in the bedrooms and start loading them in the washing machine. Let me know when you're done," he said, satisfaction blooming in his chest once again as his dad rolled his eyes but nodded and walked off without a word. "Thank you, sweetheart!"

He followed his dad halfway down the hall and kept going to the kitchen, where Zoe was finishing off her coffee. "This is so strange. I know everything's off, but there's so much on my mind I can't really place it all."

"I know, I feel the same way," Zoe replied, nodding. "It all feels so right, though. Sitting the way dad does and holding my coffee the same way without even thinking about it. You're twirling the hem of mom's dress around your finger, bet you didn't know."

Jon blushed as he realized he was doing just that. Zoe laughed, and he huffed angrily, but he couldn't stay angry for long. "You caught me," he giggled. "Well, mom and dad are both cleaning. What do you feel like doing? We've got a free day to ourselves."

"Aren't you the least bit concerned about what's going on? Maybe it won't last forever, or not everyone will be affected. What happened to Mikey?" Zoe asked, worry lines creasing her face.

"What about Mikey, dear?" Jon asked in return. "He's still asleep. I can wake him up if you'd like."

"Yeah," she nodded, "let's wake him up together."
