Outside the hotel room, Jane nearly collided with another skimpily-dressed woman. It took her a moment to realize who it was.
"Megan?" Jane asked. She blinked a couple of times and shook her head. No, this couldn't be her conservative friend Megan Smith, could it? She was dressed as much like a hooker as Jane was.
"Wow, I totally scored with that one. I got four hundred bucks off that guy," she said, adjusting her very tight and very revealing top.
"Megan, what happened to you?" Jane asked, still in shock. Had the whole world turned upside down? First, Gary and his wife thought that Jane was a hooker and now one of her closest friends looked like a hooker, and apparently thought everything was normal too.
"Nothing," Megan answered, a little confused as to why Jane was acting so odd. "Come on, Linda's waiting for us."
"Linda's here?" Jane asked.
"Well, yeah. She's our ride, remember?"
Megan walked away on her six-inch heels, like she had been doing it for years (Jane knew she never wore anything higher than a 3-inch heel, so this was another thing to make Jane more confused about her situation), then Jane followed her.
Standing next to a beat up old car was a woman wearing probably the sluttiest clothes Jane had ever seen. Her back was turned, so Jane couldn't see her face, but judging how she dressed, she didn't think she'd want to associate with her.
"Linda," Megan said, and the sluttily-dressed woman turned around. Jane stopped in her tracks and just stared, her mouth wide open. It was Linda Harrington, her closest friend since college! No, this couldn't be happening!
"The fuck's her problem?" Linda asked Megan.
"Fuck if I know," Megan said. "Ever since she came out of that hotel room, she's been acting all weird and shit." She then took out a cigarette, put it in her mouth, then lit it. "Can we go already?"
"Yeah, get in," Linda said. "Jane, get your ass in the car. Unless you'd rather walk the two miles back to Deshan's place."
"Deshan? Who's that?" Jane asked.
"Our pimp, dumbass. Now are you gonna ride with us, or walk?"
