The news reports on the TV confirmed what the security guard had told Gary. Hundreds of people across town had inexplicably exchanged lives. Everyone that had swapped maintained that they had kept their own bodies but the perception of everybody else had changed to see them in their new forms. Gary and Lorraine seemed to be among a very small percentage who had switched with people they knew.
Biff had returned home unchanged and it took him a while to get his head around the fact that the person he saw as his mother was actually his father and vice versa. Being an awkward teenager he had mostly avoided them in the coming days, not knowing how to react to them.
Gary and Lorraine had spent the next couple of days in the house, being too afraid and too embarrassed to face the outside world. The latest news reports said that the swaps appeared to have stopped and the government were investigating the mysterious circumstances. The Meadows were holding onto the hope that a way to swap back would be discovered. As the days wore on they settled into their lives.
Gary had ventured out a few days later to get essentials from the store. He was still clinging on to his male life and wore one of his t-shirts and a pair of Lorraine's jeans to the store. He didn't see the point in wearing a bra as he had no breasts that he could feel but he had resigned to wearing his wife's panties as they were much more comfortable than his own underwear. His opinion was soon changed after his first venture out. He received many strange looks from people and most of the man he encountered were openly staring at his chest. Checking himself out in a mirror in the store it was easy to see why. To everyone else he appeared to be his hot wife Lorraine, wearing a skin tight pair of jeans with her nipples on prominent display and her large breasts bouncing around with every small move he made. As he arrived back from the store he resigned himself to the fact that he would probably have to start wearing more of Lorraine's clothes including her bras to better blend in in public. Making his way towards the house, carrying a bag of groceries he fished his keys out of the purse he was carrying. His jeans were too tight to really use the pockets for anything more than small change. Approaching his front door he dropped his keys. Bending at the waist to pick them up he heard a feminine voice over the fence coughing and then whistling at him. Incredibly embarrassed he looked up to see his neighbor Jean standing staring at his butt which was on fill display. Trying to ignore his embarrassment he said hello to Jean and judging by the way she spoke and was carrying herself he guessed she too had been swapped. He quickly learned that like him and Lorraine, and against the odds, his next door neighbors Mike and Jean had also swapped lives.
"Jeez Gary, talk about hitting the jackpot. You lucky dog you, I bet you turn a lot of heads in Lorraine's smoking hot body."
Gary had always got on well with Mike. He was a bit crude but he was funny and they had often spent a lazy Sunday watching football in either of their houses while their wives hung out.
"You didn't do too badly yourself Mike. And I see you've embraced your new wardrobe much more than me!", Gary joked, looking up and down at Mike who was now wearing a floral house dress which showed off both Jean's shapely legs and impressive cleavage. Gary and Mike had often ribbed each other on the hotness of their wives and jokes about how lucky they were. At cruder times, usually after a few drinks they had spoken about what they would do to each other's wives should they ever become swingers.
"Hey, when in Rome," Mike laughed back,"besides, you know Jean, the only pants she owns are a pair of Yoga pants and they feel even weirder than these dresses she's got. Besides with this hot weather it's actually kinda nice. How are you holding up anyway? This shit is insane, isn't it?"
"Yeah, totally crazy. But we're coping as best we can. Hopefully they'll figure out a way to swap everyone back soon. I've been cooped up in the house all week but we still gotta eat so I volunteered to do a run," Gary answered.
"I hear ya. Been cooped up most of the week ourselves. Cabin fever is kicking in. You wouldn't want to come over to watch the game, would you? These swaps seem to be centered around here and the rest of the country is going on as normal. I could use some company and a distraction from everything that's going on. What do ya say? I've a few beers cooling in the fridge."
Surprised at the invite but being in agreement that he too could use the distraction Gary said he'd be over shortly. He just wanted to bring the groceries in, check in with Lorraine and go and put on a bra to save other people the distraction of his wife's bouncing breasts.
