Danielle began to hand over the stone, then hesitated.
"Believe me, we've put a lot of thought into it. We know how to fix things," Karyn reassured her.
That seemed to do it, because the officer ended up handing it over.
Karyn then turned and walked back over to the four witches. On the way to the prison, they discussed the best way to fix things. And now it was time to put their plan into action.
"I wish ..." Karyn began, then made the wish that would eliminate the glamour phenomenon for good ... at least for the people of Lake Point.
Kendall stood his ground, aiming his gun directly at the door, as the pounding against it continued. Brick Harrison was a big guy, a strong guy. This wooden door wouldn't last much longer. It was already starting to splinter.
But then, suddenly, the pounding stopped. Taken by surprise (Brick would never give up - he was a relentless kind of guy, much like himself), Kendall darted towards the living room window and looked out onto the front lawn. There was a man and a teenage girl holding Brick to the ground. Kendall could make out a police badge attached to the girl. And he recognized the man as Warden George Stevenson, or at least that's who it was underneath the glamour. George was there earlier when Kendall came to stop Scarlet and her band of witches.
Kendall relaxed himself. Somehow, the cops figured out what was happening and took action. He opened the door and looked down at the handcuffed former-military-officer-turned-hitman. Brick looked up at him and snarled. Kendall smiled, which caused the man to snarl even more.
"Excuse me, but who are you?" the teenage girl asked, probably wondering what he was doing with a gun.
Kendall opened his mouth to answer him, but was suddenly forced to shut his eyes. All around him, he briefly saw a bright flash of white-hot light. Even after he shut his eyes, he could feel it burning them, overwhelming him with a killer headache. And then it was gone, almost as fast as it had begun.
He opened his eyes and looked down at Brick. The man looked like Brick. He turned and looked at the teenage girl. But she was gone, replaced by a middle-aged man. The same badge was there. It was the same cop. But the phenomenon ... it was over. People looked the way they should have looked. But how? How could this have happened?
"You're back to normal," the cop said to George.
"And so are you," George said. "They did it. They actually did it."
"What are you talking about?" Kendall asked. "Who did what?"
Karyn opened her eyes and looked around. "It ... worked," she said, with sudden relief. Officer Chase looked like herself again, as did Officer Maybourn, who was still unconscious.
"Thank goddess," Athena said, glad that she finally looked like herself and not that Angie girl.
"Is everything back to normal now?" Officer Chase asked.
"Almost," Scarlet explained. "The glamour phenomenon is over, but everyone will still have memories of it. And anything that happened because of it still happened. It's just that the phenomenon is no longer in effect. Everyone looks the way they should."
"That's good enough for me," the officer said.
Amy Johnson looked out through her prison door. The person who looked like her, but was actually Vic Rudolph, was back to looking like himself. So didn't that mean that she looked like herself again? "Can you get me out of here now?" she asked.
"Shut up, you son of a bitch," one of the guards spat. "You're not going to fool us."
"What?" Amy asked, astonished.
Vic smiled. "I made a wish that everyone will always think that I'm Amy Johnson, a sweet and innocent person that could do no wrong. I guess it doesn't matter if I look like myself or not."
"Well, then," Karyn said. "There's a way to fix that." She clutched the stone, which made Vic feel alarmed and uneasy.
"Wait. What the hell are you doing?"
"I wish ..."
