Vic walked back to the police station to give himself another chance to kill Bartlett. Yeah, he was told that Bartlett was out doing his goody-two-shoes police work, but there was always a good chance that he'd return to the precinct. And now that he had killed his ex-fucking-lawyer, he was satisfied enough to wait.

As he walked up the steps to the front door of the precinct, two people (a bulging balding man and a young boy, who were both wearing badges) suddenly came out, knocking the door into Vic's face.

"Fuck!" Vic yelled out, in pain.

"Sorry, honey," the balding man said.

Vic glared at him, then pushed past the two swapped cops. "Just get out of my fucking way," he spat at them.

"That girl's got quite a mouth on her," the boy said.

"Yeah," the balding man agreed. "But I think she's gonna be alright. She doesn't seem like the troublemaker type." He moved his foot down to the next step, when suddenly something caught his eye. He reached down and snatched up an odd-looking stone, then put it in his pocket.

Inside the precinct, Vic sat down in the waiting room. It was mostly empty now, since the police ordered anyone who had swapped to just go home, if they were able to.

After about ten minutes, Vic started to lose his patience. He thought that killing Gary Fiennes would be enough to hold him over, but it seemed that he couldn't wait any longer. "Where is that fucking cop?" he muttered to himself.

But then an idea sprung in his mind. And he wasn't sure why he didn't think of it earlier. He had that wishing stone. He could just wish for Bartlett to come back to the precinct.

He grabbed for the stone, but then realized that it was gone! Panicking, he looked around the waiting room, but still couldn't find it.

"Did you lose something?" a woman asked.

Vic turned around and glared at her, all while she was smiling cheerfully at him. "Get the fuck away from me."

She shrugged, then said "Okay. But if you need any help ..."

Vic turned his attention back to his search. But after another few minutes of looking, he still couldn't find it.

He tried to retrace his steps in his mind, and then that's when it hit him. He must have dropped the stone when those two idiots hit him with that door. He ran outside and looked around the steps and around the bushes. But it was gone. Someone must have taken it.

"Fuck!" he yelled.

Sharon ran out to the crashed car, just as an ambulance arrived on the scene. Two paramedics climbed out of the vehicle and ran towards the car. But Sharon stopped them.

"You can't touch him," she said.

"Honey," the twenty-something guy said. "We have to see if he's okay."

"But ..." she began, but the paramedic moved past her. To them, she looked like a little girl. She had no sense of authority.

And she just stood there, feeling powerless, as the two paramedics looked inside the car and one of them touched the driver.
