Vic Rudolph (in the guise of the high school girl Amy Johnson) moved freely through the police station, looking for his target. But with so many people around and people in different bodies, it was hard to pinpoint exactly where Bartlett was.
And after a few minutes of just wandering around, Vic decided to just ask someone.
"Oh, Bartlett?" said the police woman (who had a really nice rack, by the way). "Yeah, he's not here."
"He's not?" Vic frowned. He was so looking forward to killing him.
"No, he's out helping people that got switched. He figured that since he was already switched himself, he'd be the ideal person to help them. You know, since he can't affect them and they can't affect him."
"Are you switched?" Vic asked.
"No. And thank god. I ..."
Vic smiled, then reached out and touched her. The cop suddenly looked around, like she wasn't quite sure where she was.
Then, on his way out, he touched every person he was close enough to (just for the fun of it) and ended up switching at least five more people.
Once outside, he wondered what he should do next. Bartlett could be anywhere and he didn't want to wait around for him to come back to the police station. So instead, he decided to go after the number two on his "death list", and that was Gary Fiennes, his defense attorney during his trial. Yeah, some defense. That fucking asshole didn't do one thing to clear his name. He was just there for show. Well, after today, he'll wish that he would have at least tried.
