On her way to the place where she and the rest of her coven usually meet (a seemingly abandoned cabin in the most wooded part of town), Rachel spotted someone she thought she recognized. But the way the girl was dressed, it was hard to tell if it was really her.
The closer she got, however, the more convinced she was that this girl was indeed Athena DeVries, a member of her coven. But her general appearance was in shocking contrast to how she usually looked. A high-necked, long-sleeved white blouse, a long denim skirt, and a pair of black Mary Janes with white socks. Her dark hair was even pulled back into a severe bun. Totally not Athena's look at all. But it was Athena.
She quickened her pace and approached her, yelling out her name. "Athena!"
Athena turned and looked at her. "Do I know you?"
"It's me. Rachel."
"Rachel?" she asked, looking her over. She was apparently just as surprised to see Rachel (or rather Rachel's glamour) wearing something just as modest and conservative as what she wore herself. "What are you wearing?"
"What are you wearing?" Rachel asked.
"I have the glamour of a Christian girl, or so I could gather. Can you believe that? Of all the people I could switch with, I switch with this girl."
"Well, I have the glamour of a Christian woman," Rachel said. "So, I guess we're in the same boat. It's amazing. The odds that both of us would would switch with the same type of person are ... well ... astronomical. You know, maybe when I get some time, I can consult the stars and ... what?" she asked Athena, who was smiling.
"I can't see past your glamour, Rachel. All I see is a modest woman, a Christian woman, talking about consulting the stars. I just think it's funny."
"Well, it's not as humorous as you think. All of these body swaps could do some major damage to the people inflicted by them. Already, I've witnessed people whose physical and metaphysical auras are majorly mismatched. And that includes you. Your physical essence is that of a Christian girl, but your soul is that of a witch. Both aspects cannot cope within the same body, without one winning out over the other. And I'm sorry, but from what I've seen so far, it seems that the physical essences of people are stronger than the metaphysical ones."
"What are you saying? That if we don't reverse this soon, I'm going to turn into the girl I'm posing as? But I feel fine. There's nothing wrong with me."
"Maybe not now, but soon it may be a different story. But don't worry. With the help of the rest of the coven, we may be able to enhance the metaphysical side of your aura and make sure you stay as a witch."
Athena sighed a breath of relief.
"Now, come on. Let's get to the cabin. Zoe and Scarlet might already be there waiting for us," Rachel said.
