After doing some intense research, Zoe had come up with a plan. As far as she knew, there was no way to reverse what was happening. But she did find a way to stop it in its tracks, so that there were no more swaps. The catch was that she couldn't do it herself, and the way to stop all of this madness came in the form of a potion. Scarlet was the expert when it came to potions, so Zoe decided to give her a call.
But when she dialed the number, no one answered. Fearing that she might have swapped with someone, Zoe decided to call Athena next.
"Who is this?" the voice asked. It belonged to Athena, that was for sure. But was it Athena?
"It's me. Zoe. I know I sound like a guy, but ..."
"I don't know anyone named Zoe." Then the line went dead. Zoe called back, but no one answered. She started to get an ill feeling in her gut. It seemed that Athena had swapped as well.
That left Rachel. If she could get in touch with her, then maybe they could go search for Scarlet together.
But when she called her, no one answered. She was sure her tarot shop was open, but it seemed that no one was there. Where could she be?
Mary stumbled out of the tarot shop, after she got enough courage to get up off the floor and do something. After she touched her father Jacob Foster, she suddenly found herself sitting at a table, turning a card over. Revulsion and horror overtook her, as she discovered that they weren't just regular cards. They were tarot cards. Then, she discovered that she was wearing clothes more suited to a gypsy than a woman of the Lord. She was so dismayed at her predicament that she collapsed to the floor and prayed to God that this was just a dream. But it wasn't. Unfortunately, it was all too real.
While she sat on the floor, she noticed her reflection in a nearby mirror and realized that she was no longer in her own body, even though it looked that way when she peered down at herself. Was she possessing this heathen's body?
It took her nearly half an hour to pull herself together and get out of there. And now, here she was walking into the alley that ran alongside the tarot shop. She was in the poorer side of town. Tobacco stores, hard liquor stores, a pawn shop, a few gas stations, but mostly condemned buildings. It was the type of place she stayed away from. It's where all the sinners went to.
As she walked through the alley, she accidentally tripped, almost falling over. She looked back at where she stepped, but nothing was there. She looked closer, thinking there was something odd going on, and that's when she noticed a couple of leaves. They seemed to be floating in mid-air. She reached out and touched them and felt something beneath them. Something solid. Feeling it, she discovered to her horror that it was a body. A woman's body. And she wasn't breathing. She was dead. A dead, invisible woman.
