"Madison?" the boy in Zoe's clothes said. Jon thought he recognized the boy's voice; it was deep, masculine, and just a little bit contemptuous... almost like...

"Madison, you little punk!" the boy said, leaping out of Zoe's chair. Jon braced himself for the boy's body, which he now saw was alarmingly large and bulkly, to come flying at him in rage... but then the boy tripped, apparently over the high-heeled platform boots he was wearing, and tumbled to the ground. As he hit the floor, the boy's face fell into the light shining into the room from the hallway, and Jon saw that his guess was right.

Biff Meadows.

Biff scowled up at Jon. For a moment the sight took Jon by surprise; Biff's normally blond hair was dyed black and pulled into tiny, almost nonexistant pigtails, and his face... his face was neatly made up with heavy, dark makeup. Perhaps Jon shouldn't have been surprised, given the dress and high heels he'd already sen on Biff's bulky figure, but it was still a shock to see the most macho guy in school dressed up and made up like a girl.

"What did you do to me, Madison?" Biff growled, struggling to his feet. "Did you drug me and dress me up as your freak sister? I knew you and that Karyn chick were a little messed up, but this is just sick. When I get my hands on--"

"Zoe!"

Jon turned around in surprise and saw his mom standing in the hallway behind him, frowning. "Zoe Madison, you will NOT talk about your brother like that."

Jon raised an eyebrow and turned back to Biff, who was gaping at Jon's mother in shock.

"Mrs. Madison," Biff said, suddenly blusing furiously and dropping his eye. Jon didn't think he would ever see Biff look so sheepish. "Mrs. Madison, I, I... I can explain, I..."

"Mrs. Madison?" Jon's mom said, a note of befuddlement now entering her voice. She flipped the lightswitch next to the door and strode over to Biff (who Jon noticed, with some pleasure, looked even more ridiculous in Zoe's dress and boots now that the room was fully lit). Placing a hand on Biff's forehead, Jon's mom said, "Zoe, what has gotten into you? Are you okay?"

"Z-Zoe tripped," Jon stuttered out. "She was on the floor when I came in. I think she must be... confused. From the fall.

Biff looked at Jon in surprise, then turned to Jon's mom and nodded. "Yeah, I'm sorry, M... Mom. I don't know what got into me."

"Oh, honey," Jon's mother said, gently now. "Maybe we should get you to a doctor..."

Biff shook his head furiously, his blush growing deeper. "No, I'm fine. I'll be fine. I was j... just dazed for a second."

Jon's mom hesitated for a second, then said, "Okay, dear. Just let me know if you start to feel wrong in any way." She stroked Biff's cheek for a moment, then left the room.

When she was safely out of earshot, Biff walked over and shut the door, then said, in a low voice, "Madison, what's happening? What did you do to me?"

"I didn't do anything," Jon said. "I don't know what's happening... you know as much as I do." For a moment Jon thought about mentioning the wishing stone, but then he thought better of it.

Biff paced the room for a second, running his hand over his head. Then he sat down heavily on Zoe's bed. He was seated in a masculine posture, his legs wide apart, which combined with Zoe's short dress to give Jon a sight he didn't want to see. Jon averted his gaze in disgust. Biff, apparently oblivious to Jon's discomfort, said, "All right, all right, let's figure this out. You know I'm Biff, right? Biff Meadows, from school?"

"I know you're Biff, yeah," Jon said, taking a seat at Zoe's desk. "I see you as Biff, completely, boy and all. And you obviously know you're Biff."

"But your mom..." Biff began.

"She apparently thinks you're Zoe," Jon said.

They were silent a moment. Then Biff said, "This is effed up."

Jon nodded. His gaze drifted over to Zoe's full-length mirror, which happened to be angled toward Zoe's bed. Reflected in the mirror, he didn't see Biff's huge body but Zoe's much more petite, much more feminine figure, dressed in teh same clothes that Biff was wearing. Zoe was sitting in the same wide-legged, decidedly unfeminine posture that Biff was in, and her movements matched Biff's as he looked around Zoe's room. Even her dazed expression mirrored Biff's. But, looking back at the bed, Jon saw Biff again.

Weird.

Jon thought back to his wish for a moment. He had wished for something intresting to happen... he certainly hadn't expected anything like this. He stared for a moment at Biff... he was dressed exactly like Zoe might have dressed, in a lacy, spaghetti strap black dress and heavy black boots, with purple eyeshadow and heavy black eyeliner. Although Biff was at least a foot taller than Zoe and his muscular arms and barrel chest considerably thicker, Zoe's clothing fit Biff perfectly, as though it had been made for him. Biff's hair was dyed black, too, though it was still cut in Biff's relatively short hairstyle. Jon even saw the henna tattoo that Zoe had gotten last weekend on Biff's shoulder. And yet, despite Jon's mother's apparent belief that she had been looking at and talking to her daughte... despite the mirror image that showed Biff as Zoe, not as Biff... there was no question in Jon's mind when he looked at the person wearing Zoe's clothes that this was that this was Biff Meadows, football star and jerkface supreme.

It must have been because he'd made the wish, Jon thought. He saw Biff as Biff because he had made the wish that had made this happen, and the person making the wish always remembered the previous reality. And Biff must have known that he was Biff because he had been switched. And... and that must have meant that somewhere, Zoe was dressed in one of Biff's football jerseys, and she was probably freaking out.

"Look, Madison," Biff said, rising to his feet. "I don't know what on earth is going on, and you look just as clueless as I am." He slapped his heavy hand on Jon's back. "But we're--"

Jon didn't hear the rest of what Biff was saying, though, because he suddenly felt a massive wave of energy cross over him, and Zoe's room faded in a flash of light.

When the light passed and the energy receded, Jon was dazed and dizzy for a moment. As he came to his senses, though, Jon realized that he wasn't in Zoe's room anymore. And, looking down at his body, he realized that he DEFINITELY wasn't dressed in his own clothing anymore. When Biff had touched Jon's shoulder, whatever had happened to Biff must have happened to Jon as well.

With a sudden twinge of bitterness and fear, Jon muttered, "Oh boy..."
