Hmm. What makes this "retreat" so interesting, and why don't we need to bring anything? Jon wondered, as they left the driveway.
They ended up driving to just outside town. It was a privately-owned park and recreational center, usually used for family outings, hiking, or even weddings.
After their car drove over the gravel road and parked near the edge of the forest, Jon and his family got out and looked around. His mother and father seemed exhilarated to be there, breathing in the fresh air. His little brother Mikey also seemed excited, for some reason. But his sister Zoe looked unhappy, crossing her pale arms in front of her black T-shirt. She obviously didn't want to be there.
"So, why are we here?" Jon asked, refusing to find out for himself.
"you'll see Jon, sheeshe be patient," his Mother told him
Jon tried to figure it out by seeing who else was around, but he couldn't distinguish any patterns
They all were ushered into the large building there, half of the people were brought into another room
"alright, it seems we're all here" A lady said at the front of the room. "I bet you're all wondering what exactly you guys have gotten yourself into, well in the other room are several couples who are looking into having a child, and you all are going to become, their children." There was a look of shock around the audience, "don't worry the process is completely safe and reversible after a week, you will be back to normal, so now if you all will proceed into the next room we can start.
Jon was severely alarmed, but the reactions of the people were only minimal, they were going to the next room, instead of trying to leave. Jon decided he had no choice and followed everyone into the next, room, where there was lots of machinery and a small circle surrounded by diodes and machines. one by one people people stepped in and after a flash they were turned into a child, of it seemed, any age or gender, teens were becoming babies, adults were becoming toddlers. Ahead of him he saw his Mom, become and infant, then his Dad become a toddler.
it finally become his turn, to his right, there was a window, he saw a few people at a computer screen. most were scientists, but two stood out as a couple, probably the people that would be his parents... he stepped into the machine.
