"To start," the man on the TV said. "Steve, you have been traded with Lorraine Meadows." Right after he said it, Jon's dad seemed to become disoriented. Then after blinking a few times, a look of shock entered his eyes.
"Oh god! I really am a man!" his dad yelled out. But Jon was certain that mentally he was no longer his father.
"Next," the man on the TV continued. "Jane, you have been traded with Wesley Meadows." Wesley was Biff Meadows' 8-year old brother.
Jon's mom looked disoriented, then blinked. "Whoa, this is so cool," she said, sounding more like a little kid than a grown woman.
"Now, it's Zoe's turn," the man said.
"Uh ... I don't know if I like this," Zoe said, clearly becoming apprehensive.
"You have been traded with Gary Meadows," the man continued. Gary was Biff's father.
Suddenly, Zoe looked a bit woozy, then she blinked. "Oh man, what kind of freakish girl did I swap with?" she asked, looking down at herself.
Jon and Mikey looked at each other. They were the only ones left.
"Mikey," the man on the TV said. "You have been traded with Brenda Meadows." Brenda was Biff's 21-year old cousin who was visiting that week. Apparently, she had decided to join the family retreat.
Mikey became a bit dizzy, then blinked. "Oh god, this is strange," Mikey said.
Now it was Jon's turn. And there was only one member of the Meadows family left: Biff Meadows (the most popular jock at Jon's school and also boyfriend to that bitch cheerleader Sarah McMillan).
"Jon," the man said. "You have been traded Biff Meadows."
Suddenly, Jon became disoriented. Everything around him became blurry, then he was engulfed in darkness. Then, in the blink of an eye, he was in a different cabin, looking at a bunch of strangers. But, of course, they weren't strangers. They were his family, now possessing the bodies of the Meadows family.
"Jon, honey. Are you okay?" a young boy asked. It was his mother.
"Now that all of you have swapped places," the man on the TV said. "There are some rules that you must follow, to allow the experiment to run as smoothly as possible." Then he went on to lay out all the rules ...
