When they stepped out of the building, Jon stopped. "Um ... I think there's been a little bit of a mix-up here. I thought you were asking me to ... uh ..."
The woman sighed. "I was really hoping that I wouldn't have to do this."
"Do what?" Jon asked.
The woman took a small canister out of her purse.
"What's that?"
"Something the retreat coordinators gave me, just in case I found someone who was a bit reluctant ... like you," she said. Then she aimed it at Jon and sprayed him.
After coughing, he asked "What was that?"
"You're my son, Jon," she said.
Jon blinked. "Of course, I am, Mom."
She smiled. She was glad that the hypno spray worked. It made things so much easier. "Come on, Jon. Let's go home."
"Okay."
