It didn't take me long to find the meeting place, and I didn't have to wait long once I got there.
"Phew," the Knight said as he entered the alley shortly after I did. "I thought for a second they were going to mob me when I said I was done receiving applicants for the day... I can only imagine what would happen if they actually got to meet Lancelot in person..."
"Lancelot?" i asked enthusiastically, "You mean lance Quaid don't you? Is he here? Will I get to meet him?"
The Knight paled slightly. "Oh please... Tell me you're not another avid fan..."
"Um... Not really," I lied. "Everyone has heard of him though..."
The Knight shook his head. "Well, you'd do well not to speak of that when you meet him... Lancelot doesn't really like all that adulation, and he's not the sort you want to piss off."
, I gushed to myself, but wisely kept my tone non-committal. "So... I take it you've got some sort of proposition for me? I doubt you guys just take in random applicants for fun..."
The Knight grinend. "You're quick... My name is Slayd," he said, extending his hand. I took it and introduced myself.
"Davi - I mean, Danil Fairstorm," I answered. "At your service."
"We'll see about that," Slayd said, "You're right... We have a task for you. If you succeed, you'll be inducted into the order, and advanced immediately to the rank of Knight-Captain. I won't kid you though... It's not an easy task..."
"What exactly do I have to do?"
Slayd's expression grew closed. "I can't tell you that until you've decided to accept the mission. The rewards will be worth it though, I promise you... A Knight-Captain is fifth in the hierarchy of the Order..."
Fifth ranked huh? That's quite a way to start my gaming life! Should I or shouldn't I...
