Not much time had passed since the man had left so if she hurried she might be able to catch up with the trail. Bellona moved quickly knowing that soon people would be up and destroy any trail the man had left. She knew the direction the person had headed and hoped she had guessed right about the direction he had headed.
The man had the appearance of someone foreign to this land. His face had a slight stubble of a man who had forgotten to shave that day and few in these northern lands would ever bother to shave as they saw it as a waste and foolish because it supplied an extra warmth against the bitter cold of the mountains. Her keen eyes had seen that his eyes were a bright green in color that was not known in the barbarian tribes so it made sense that he had come from the south.
Most of the trail to the south was solid packed earth from years of use but there were parts of it were still soft from a recent rain that she was depending upon to find the man. Moving quickly over the hard ground until she found soft patches to check for prints. She hoped the man was traveling nice and slow in a sloppy fashion that would leave a lot of evidence of his passage. To control her wife it was certain he had some magic which usually meant an arrogance, someone who would place little worry on being followed. It didn’t take long to find the tracks she was looking for, the boots of a city dweller.
Anger twinged at her warming her body, she had thought all of it was gone from her but at least a little of it was left and if she stoked the spark perhaps she could start a fire that would bring the spirit back to her. The anger had come at the thought of what this magic user had done to her and her family. Bellona wondered if she should follow this feeling and confront the man and teach him the danger of messing with a friend of the Wolverine.
Her eyes caught sight of her swaying chest and her petite curvy form and she realized she might not have the fighting prowess she once had. Worry started to plague her mind as she closed the distance to her target. She had no idea what the path ahead had in store for her and that fear started to grow on her but she took hold of the anger within her. It burned her fear away but the anger was not strong enough yet to destroy all of the fear that dwelled inside of her but it could be once again, she felt.
The man had taken a small trail off the main one that led to a small abandoned tower. It was in very poor condition the last time he had seen it but perhaps the man had done some repairs to it. It was the only thing Bellona could think of that was out here.
