Mary believed that part of her always knew this would be how her journey with Karas would end. In the morning, she again fed her baby girl from her full breasts. Kara as she would now be called filled herself on the nutritious milk. Mary petted the head of the precious bundle before her. She gathered her clothes and personal items making several trips to the wagon she had readied. She spied a note left among Karas’s few items. She carried with her Kara as went about the local shops picking up useful items for the care of a small baby.
Mary drew stares from the men in the town as she sashayed down the street feeling the full vigor of youth.
