Which might have worked, except that working in the best way for Jon would have reversed the wish that something interesting happen. The room shifted and changed and now Jon was in a room, not a warehouse--but many of the same things were there, including much of the clothes. Lifting a hand to his face he saw it was now feminine, and a moment later he figured out he had been transformed into a girl. The heels and dress now fit perfectly.
The door to the room opened and one of the kidnappers, dragging Sarah McMillan by the upper arm, pushed her into the room and she entered. "Well," said the kidnapper, "I hate to hurt you, but we are going to get that ransom. Until your family pays us, you're going to stay in here with my daughter...."
There was no other person in the room. Jon concluded that he must now be the daughter--he had asked to be at home, and he was at what was now his home. And they did bring Sarah there. He had no idea how to deal with this--in this reality was Jon, as the daughter, supposed to be a willing participant? Or was she just intimidated enough by her dad to go along? Would she at least be let out for school or did her new daddy just keep her locked up all the time too?
