"I know you have something to do with this," the boy said. "What the fuck did you do to me?!" The boy (who had his mom's face, Derek just now realized) grabbed him and shook him. But this new boy wasn't quite as menacing as his mother. Derek just pushed him off, sending him flailing backwards onto the floor, where he immediately burst into tears.
"Look at me!" the boy shouted, through his tears. "I'm a freak, just like you!"
As the boy sat there, Derek watched as his straight hair continued to grow longer and hide most of his face. Then the clothes he was wearing began to change, becoming a tight faded green T-shirt, a pair of tight jeans, a studded belt, and worn sneakers. The boy stared down at himself, then cried some more.
Derek sat down on the floor next to him and patted his shoulder. But the emo boy apparently didn't want to be comforted. He shrugged away from Derek and pushed him away. "Get away from me," he growled.
Derek did as he asked and went back in his room.
