The doorbell rang.
"Karyn? Could you get that?"
"Sure, Mom," Karyn said, opening the door. "Jon?" She giggled at the sight of her best friend in girl's clothes.
"Okay, you had your laugh. Just let me in, okay? These heels are killing me," Jon said, before Karyn allowed him in.
"Why are you wearing all that?" she asked.
"You don't know? It's happening all over town."
"What is?"
"Can we go to your room?" Jon asked. If Karyn didn't know about what was happening, then maybe her mother didn't either. And he didn't want her seeing him dressed like this.
"Sure," she answered.
A moment later, they entered her bedroom and closed the door.
"Now, what's going on?" she asked Jon, who immediately sat down on her bed.
"Man, how do women tolerate wearing heels?"
"Jon, what's going on?" she repeated.
"I accidentally made a wish."
"With the stone? What did you wish for?"
"That's just it. It was really vague. Anything could have happened because of it. But what did happen was this," he said, pointing at his outfit.
"Your wish changed your outfit?"
"No. It forced all of the guys in town to buy women's clothing and then to return home and burn all of their normal clothes. I can't wear boy's clothes anymore, Karyn. My dad tried to buy a suit, but a few minutes later, he was forced to burn it."
"Can't you just make another wish to fix this? You said your wish was really vague."
"That's why I brought the stone with me," he said, pulling the wishing stone out of the purse his mom gave him. "But I don't know what to wish for. Maybe together we can think of something."
