"Oh, Mrs. Gibson? Is that you? Your voice sounds strange," Karyn said on the phone. "I was looking for Jon."
Josie paused before saying anything. But then she said "I'm Jon."
"What?"
"Well, I mean, Jon is part of me."
"What are you talking about?" Karyn asked.
"Well, Jon used the wishing stone last night and accidentally made a wish that merged his entire family into one person. And that person is me."
"So ... you're actually Jon, his mother, his sister, and his brother?"
"That's right. And might I add, young lady, that having a wishing stone in your possession but not telling anyone about it (especially to your mother) is very disappointing ... but at the same time, it's so fucking cool. It's just like those comics I like to read. I should tell Athena about this. She's gonna flip when I tell her I have a magic wishing stone. I think ..."
"Stop!" Karyn yelled over the phone.
"What?"
"Jon, or Mrs. Gibson, or whoever you are ..."
"My name is Josie."
"Okay, Josie. We have to figure out a way to get you back to normal."
"Normal?"
"Yeah, back to being the separate people that make you up."
"Then I won't exist anymore," Josie said.
"Yeah, but you weren't supposed to exist in the first place," Karyn pointed out.
"But I exist now. I'm a person. I even have a name: Josie Gibson."
"One that you made up, no doubt. Listen, I'm sorry, but ..."
"I'm sorry too," Josie said, cutting her off. She reached under Jon's bed and pulled out the box containing the stone. Then she took out the stone. It was both familiar and not, at the same time.
"Josie? Are you there?" Karyn asked.
Then Josie said "I wish ..."
