It was at least another twenty minutes before Mary noticed Bridian walking towards the exit of the restaurant, the man he met interlocking his arm into his as they walked. They seemed to be in good spirits, smiling and chuckling as they went. That was good news for Mary. As long as she kept her place for the rest of the night, it should be a smooth-sailing evening.
Mary watched through the glass doors, as the gentleman helped Bridian into his fur coat, then led him outside.
"Is this Mary?" the man asked, after stepping out of the restaurant.
