Mary stood up on her new heels and walked closer to the restaurant window, intending to peek inside to see what was taking Brindian so long. When she did, she noticed that she felt taller. And that was when she looked down and noticed that she was wearing different clothes. "What the ...? What happened to my clothes?"
She looked up from herself and looked through the window. She could spot Brindian easily enough. Although, he looked different, didn't he? She wasn't sure, but there was definitely something different about him. Sitting at the table with him was an older man. And they seemed to be having a good time.
"I don't believe it. He threw me out so that he can eat with someone else?" Mary said aloud, an anger brewing beneath her words. She felt like charging right in there and giving Brindian a piece of her mind. But then she wondered if that was such a good idea. Getting on Brindian's bad side was not the best idea. She already got thrown out of the restaurant. She didn't want something worse to happen to her. As guardians go, he was fairly strict when it came to Mary's behavior while in public with him. Wait a minute. Wasn't he her son? She looked at him through the window again. Was he her son? She wasn't really sure anymore.
