"This whole situation..." Jen said, sitting at her desk. "We need to figure something out, here."
"The only thing we could really do is approach Ms. Holloway." Karyn said, stretching out on Jen's bed. "Which would probably not be a good idea. Not if she's fueled by the stone."
"I know. There's got to be something we can do, though..." Jen said. "We can't just let her stay out there. She could do too much damage."
"Hey, Jen, not that I want to diffuse this conversation, but I am sooo thirsty right now." Karyn said, grabbing her throat.
Jen laughed a bit. "Fine, let's go grab some drinks." she said.
The pair left Jen's room and headed to the kitchen, grabbing a couple of diet sodas. It was a minute into them drinking when Karyn began giggling.
"What's so funny?" Jen asked, taking another sip.
"Not much. I just don't think I've ever seen you drink a diet soda." Karyn said.
Jen paused and looked down at the drink in her hand. "Huh...I didn't even notice. I just grabbed it..."
"Maybe it's a side effect of the magic." Karyn suggested.
At this point, Zoe came down and entered the kitchen. Jen and Karyn looked over at the younger girl, who was wearing a black skirt, a black v-neck shirt with a pink heart on the chest, a pair of black and pink striped tights, and a pair of black high heeled boots.
A little girly for Zoe's normal style... Jen thought, looking her sister over.
"You two didn't finish off all the sodas, did you?" Zoe asked, walking over to the fridge.
"No, there's still a few left." Jen said. "All ready for your concert?"
"Yeah. Trinity finally answered her phone. At least we're still able to steal her away from you two and the rest of the cheer squad." Zoe said, smiling wryly.
"Aww, afraid we're gonna steal her away from you?" Karyn asked.
"Not even. We know we're cooler than all of you." Zoe said, grabbing a soda from the fridge. "Anyway, I gotta head out. I'm gonna meet Athena and then we're gonna head to Trinity's. See you two later."
As soon as Zoe was gone, Jen looked at Karyn. "Zoe's definitely been changed by this."
"Well, she has an older sister now, instead of an older brother." Karyn said. "And being friends with Trinity, who also hangs out with her older sister and a whole other group of girls. She's probably got way more feminine influence in her life."
"I guess..." Jen said, taking another sip of her drink. "This whole thing seems to have more fallout than we first thought."
"Well, as far as side effects go, Zoe having a better attitude is not the worst." Karyn said.
"True." Jen said. At that point, her phone rang, playing a pop song that neither of them had listened to before. Jen rolled her eyes and answered it.
"Hello?" she asked. "Oh, hey Jade. What's up?"
Jen listened to the phone for a minute, then nodded. "Yeah, sure. Karyn and I can head over to your place. Yeah, I remember where it is from when we had to do that project last semester. Okay, be there in a bit."
"What's up?" Karyn asked.
"Jade said she figured something out about this whole situation, and she wants us to go over so she can explain." Jen said.
"Alright, that seems...good." Karyn said. "Let's go, I guess."
With that, Jen and Karyn headed out to Jade's house.
