Jonchelle woke up the next morning feeling rather excited. He had already insisted to his family last night that she wanted to be called Jonchelle; however, overnight, he—no, she—had decided to take things a little further.
She shut off her alarm and slipped out of bed, eager to begin the new year and day. Looking through her sister’s closet, she frowned. There wasn’t anything that didn’t scream Goth, and Jonchelle had already decided that she didn’t want to be that type of girl. Dark was fine, but not Zoe dark. She did, however, select a pair of panties, and on a whim, she also took out a bra.
Deciding that she’d take some of her clothes out from her room, at least until they went shopping, Jonchelle stepped out into the hall and took a shower, where she decided to use Zoe’s shampoo and even shave her legs. Wow, so much hair, she thought as she did something she’d never done in her life. How do boys live like that?
After shaving, Jonchelle decided to do what she had seen so many women do on TV and wrapped one towel around her chest and another around her hair. As she wrapped it around her hair, Jonchelle frowned at how short it was. She would have to get a wig when they went shopping. The thought about using the stone for that did cross her mind, but she decided to ask Karyn about that later.
The door to what had been Jon’s room was still closed, which meant that Zoe—Zachary, Jonchelle reminded herself—wasn’t up yet, so instead of getting dressed, Jonchelle returned to Zoe’s room and decided to try out Zoe’s makeup. Again, it was too dark for her, but the time that she had spent trying out the different shades had given Zoe enough time to get up and take a shower, so Jonchelle slipped quickly into her former room and grabbed some clothes.
Finally ready, Jonchelle bounced excitedly down the stairs, ready to greet her parents.
