"What was that Davis?" asked Henry, plotting his next move.
"Nothing, just reading about what it could be. I think I'll start a multivitamin, and see if that helps," replied Davis. Mikey came from behind to win the board game before the trio went to bed. The rest of the winter break, Mikey spent with his girlfriend and family. Sometimes Diane would stay at Michelle's and sometimes it would be the other way around. The night would start with two girls, but usually would end with a boy and a girl spooning in bed. They were almost caught more than once, but a quick shuffle under the sheets seemed to convince parents that nothing was amiss.
The girls went back to Deerfield to finish up the second trimester. The volleyball team remained undefeated, thanks to Celeste's amazing serve and Michelle's spikes. The roommates all helped eachother do well in their classes. Diane and Michelle would sleep with eachother, usually with one in male form, but not always. They did debate taking off the extra bead on Mikey's necklace to make another one, but they weren't sure if that would cause any trouble to have all the necklaces with the same number of beads. Michelle texted her brother about it, and he said he'd look into it. A couple weeks later, he said if the bead was transferred to another string, all 3 necklaces would work, but none would be the "prime" necklace since they all had the same number of beads. Meaning, the three necklaces would act independently, with each one not really "knowing" about the other. So, to make sure everyone remembered everything, all the people that want to know about the necklace would have to wear each necklace at least once a year. If Mikey's necklace continued to have the 2 beads, it would remember all the "children" necklace activity automatically. The couple decided to leave the world with just the 2 necklaces.
The other necklace wasn't used as much. It seemed like Henry lent his necklace to Davis like half the time last trimester, but now it was only used maybe once a week. Michelle texted Davis if everything was OK, and Davis replied that he only used the necklace for really lucrative gigs now. Michelle was glad that his friend was using it more responsibly now. The trimester ended with SAT talk and excitement for Softball season. After a couple weeks at home catching up with the girl scouts and his other friends, it was back to the grind at Deerfield. Diane got a 1550 on her SAT, and Michelle got a 1510. Their roommates did well too. Diane made the varsity team this year. Michelle's pitching continued to go well. She continued to get recruited by all sorts of colleges. She was going to be a proctor of a girl's freshman dorm next year. Junior year ended uneventfully.
Mikey went back to himself after he put his bags down in his room. This summer he had an internship in New York doing research on solar panels. Diane was going to intern at a law firm in the city too. It was agreed that Michelle and Diane were going to stay with Diane's aunt Molly at her place on the upper west side. Usually, it was rented, but it worked out that the place was empty starting in May, so Molly arranged the next renter for September, giving the girls a free place to stay in the city for the summer about a 10 minute subway ride away from each of their internships which started in about 2 weeks. Diane and Mikey went camping with the girlscounts, who caught them up on local gossip while each of them put the necklace on for a bit. They also caught up with eachother, finding out about current boyfriends. Heather had a few boyfriends and girlfriends, sometimes at the same time in the same bed. They went skinny dipping to keep the tradition going.
Mikey spend a couple days and nights with the boys too. Henry's family had put in a pool and hottub in the spring after the thaw so everyone could enjoy it this summer. The boys were out enjoying the pool catching up before Henry was going to Washington to work at Nintendo USA and Mikey went to the city. Davis had even arranged to do something this summer, he was going to work at his aunt's auto shop in New Jersey, so he could hop on NJ transit to get into the city to see Diane and Mikey. After some shenanigans on the diving board and some dares about who could hold their breath the longest, the Mikey and Davis laid down on the chairs. Henry stayed at the edge of the pool.
"Guys, I have an announcement to make, "started Davis, "I will no longer be using the necklace to be Davonne."
"What?" said the other two at the same time. "You love being Davonne. Well, maybe not love it, but you like the free stuff and modelling money." added Mikey.
"Well, those things are going to be harder to come by. It's probably easier to show you. Henry, can I have the necklace?" Henry took off the necklace. He felt board shorts seemingly travel up his torso to cover his expanding chest, while at the same time exposing his thighs. He then felt the water on his stomach again, as his one piece became a two piece barely large enough to cover his large breasts. He smiled trying to contain a laugh as his longer hair tickled his back.
Davis put the necklace on. His swimming trucks did the same thing as Rika's, but as the material disappeared from his torso, his abdomen enlarged.
"Guys, I'm pregnant."
