According to the flier, after school that afternoon there was going to be a special tryout for the high school cheerleading squad. But unlike a normal tryout, this one was going to have a very unique selection process.
Jon had no interest in cheerleading, and was planning on skipping the tryouts and hanging out with Karyn. However, when the last bell of the day rang, he found himself drawn to the gymnasium, where the tryouts were being held.
As he entered, he saw that everyone in his grade was present, including some people who, like himself, would normally never have come to an event like this. This must be related to my wish... Jon thought.
Jon took a seat next to Karyn, who looked just as confused to be there as he was, and waited for the event to begin.
