Zoe got home before Jon, who she noticed was talking to Karyn as she passed him on her way home. After how Tom and Miranda's meeting had gone, she decided to just leave it alone and avoid them.

Her phone buzzed in her pocket, but she ignored it. She was super-pissed and confused. What the hell had caused Sarah to disappear like that? Why was Athena suddenly a cheerleader? And why did so few people seem scared by this? She wasn't scared, she was angry, and right now she had half a mind to go and burn down an Abercrombie and Fitch, just to make her feel better.

As she walked through the door, she noticed her mom hanging up the phone.

"That was Athena. She wants you to come over. She says she can explain everything."

"Oh great," said Zoe, not sure she knew what she meant by that.

"Have you seen Jon, by the way?" her mom asked.

"Yeah, he was walking behind me. He's with Karyn. She's a cheerleader now."

"A cheerleader? Really? Well, it's about time. That should make them both happy. I'm sure she really wanted that."

"Why would she want something like that?" Zoe asked her.

"Well, you know how she has a rep as a tomboy. Now that's she's filled out a bit, I'm sure she would want to make some changes to her life. It only makes sense."

"Sure, whatever," Zoe told her mom.

Her phone buzzed in her pocket again. It was a text message:

COME OVER. I KNOW U R MAD BUT I CAN EXPLAIN. ITS MAGIC. COME OVER.

Zoe sighed. "I've got to go," she said, then turned around and headed out the door.
