Everyone went home after the cheer that Athena had lead. Even Jon, who snuck away unseen. There weren't too many people left, after many of them had run off, and all the new recruits had new lives to explore. Athena told the troupe to go home and meet up the next day at the same time to practice. She had become the de-facto leader, even to Tiffany, who would have usually taken over in Sarah's absence. Athena now had an air of authority to her, like somehow (even though they were all kind of lost in their new lives), she knew what to do and how to handle it. It's not like any of them were unhappy, though. They all bubbled with excitement, but in the same way that you do when you walk through the gates of Disney World. It's really cool and there's this great magical world laid out for you ... but knowing exactly where to go and what to do? That was where Athena's leadership came in. And they all followed happily.
From just outside the field, Zoe watched as they all left. She had run as soon as she saw what happened to Athena, fearing it might happen to her too. She watched as Athena got in a car with Biff Meadows (former boyfriend of Sarah McMillan), smiling as she flirted with him.
Zoe couldn't help but stare. Her friend was completely different now. No way would she ever flirt with anyone, especially someone like Biff. Was there anything left of the original Athena?
