Karyn braced herself for whatever change might happen. But as it turned out, nothing did. Realizing that she was still herself, even after Jon was pointing at her for at least five to six seconds, she lurched towards Jon and slugged him in the face, causing him to slam against the back wall of the bathroom and slump to the floor.
She bent down and pulled the blindfold off of him and sneered at him with disgust. "Next time, mind your own business and leave me and my friends alone," she said.
Jon moaned as he started to regain some awareness. He thought that the blindfold would work, but for some reason, it didn't. There were so many different possible reasons why. Maybe Sarah was the only one who could use it. Or maybe he wasn't using it correctly. Whatever the reason was, it no longer really mattered. The cheerleaders had taken the blindfold back and soon they would gladly deliver it back to Sarah, the one who forced them against their will to become cheerleaders in the first place.
Unless Jon could somehow stop them.
Karyn yelled out to the others. "I'm okay, girls."
Through his haze, Jon saw Athena and Randi poke their heads around the sides of the door frame hesitantly. When they saw that Karyn was indeed okay (not okay from Jon's point-of-view, though), they walked into the bathroom.
"Did you get it?" Athena asked.
"Yeah, it's right here," Karyn said, smiling. "Time to take it back to Sarah."
Jon groaned, then tried to sit up a little more. "Wait," he said, with a raspy voice. He swallowed, then began to speak again with a clearer voice. "You have to listen to me. You were all changed. Sarah changed you with that blindfold. You're not supposed to be this way."
"Well, duh," Karyn said. "We already know that, you dork. But we like the way we are now. Right, girls?"
"Yeah, definitely," Athena said. "I'm glad I'm not that disgusting freak anymore."
"It's so cool being a girl," Randi said, before giggling.
Jon shook his head. He wasn't getting through to them. They remembered everything from their original lives, but Sarah had completely changed their personalities. They loved who they were now and would never go out of their way to change back.
He only had one last option: the wishing stone. But he'd have to go home to use it. If Karyn still remembered her original life, then she knew about the stone too. And that made her even more dangerous than Sarah.
"See? We like who we are now," Karyn said. "So deal with it."
"What should we do with him?" Athena asked. "Leave him here or take him back with us?"
"Good question," Karyn said. After some thought, she decided to ...
