Brandon looked around the small hut, the cozy and rather crowded setting looking oddly familiar to him. He brushed it off as deja vu, but walked inside and sat down in the middle of the house nonetheless.
Next to his seat Brandon saw two small red discs. Instinct took over again, and he picked them up and used the pins on the back of each disc to put on in each ear, the new earrings hanging off his ears. The feeling of their slight weight felt a little odd to Brandon at first, but he quickly grew used to it, even comfortable with it.
"Oh my god, he's changing so much!" Mary said, watching her son change more and more.
The shopkeeper remained apathetic. "That's how it goes, lady."
Mary turned on the shopkeeper, directing all her fear and frustration at the man. "And why would you even have something like that in your shop? You said this has happened something like a hundred times, and every time they loose their free will, becoming pixels in a game, unable to control their actions! That's immoral! That's insane! That's-"
The shopkeeper raised a hand, cutting Mary off right there. "You really want to know? Well then, I'll tell you-"
