Roger's eyes were still watering a bit, but he was at least able to read the card that he pulled from the envelope. The message was typed:
"Congratulations!
By now, I'm sure you've already been exposed to the contents of the envelope. Those are very special magic spores. Don't worry, they won't harm you. They merely have the interesting effect of transforming the bodies, clothing, and minds of the people that breathe them in. Once you're infected, you'll only change once, but you'll be contagious for 24 hours, so anybody else who breathes the spores will also be infected. These are some of the most magical spores, and their effects can be completely random. You may not even notice the changes!

It wasn't signed. What kind of weird practical joke was this? Roger laughed as he crumpled the card and threw it in the trash. His eyes still stung, and he was feeling a bit drowsy. He made it to the couch, but was soon overcome by a deep, heavy sleep.
