Suddenly, there was a knock on the door and woman's voice. "Mr. Davison? Are you in there?"
"Hey, that's me," the principal announced, almost yelling it.
"Shut up," Sarah whispered. She didn't want the woman to know she was in there until it was absolutely necessary. She looked down at the toy gun that was obviously not a toy. Perhaps there was some sort of reverse mechanism? What was the point of making people dumb if you couldn't return them to normal? A sort of antidote.
She aimed the gun right at the principal. Thinking that another blast would return him to normal, and hoping she was right about this, Sarah pulled the trigger.
But all the hoping in the world wouldn't change the gun's purpose. The same pink bolt of electricity that she saw earlier flew from the gun yet again ... and yet again struck the principal.
"Mr. Davison?" Sarah cautiously asked.
The man sitting behind the desk was barely even there. He just stared off into the distance, his mouth open, a string of spit hanging down.
"Oh god, I turned him into a vegetable," Sarah whispered to herself.
The knocking persisted. Whoever was out there was surely going to come in at some point. The door had no privacy lock on it. What was Sarah going to say to her?
