The first person to find one of the guns was Mrs. Finch, the school librarian. As usual, the 50-year old woman was dressed in a full-body dress (today it was green), 2-inch green heeled shoes, a pair of gaudy earrings, a pearl necklace, and over-sized glasses. Also as usual, she wore her graying hair in a tight bun, and used only the minimum of make-up.
Since it was first period, no one was in the library at the moment and Mrs. Finch felt that it was a good time to straighten up the books on the shelves. As she did, however, she found a weird-looking gun sitting on the floor. It looked like some sort of toy or maybe a replica of something from an old sci-fi movie. Science fiction was such rubbish. Yes, she had some books on that subject in the library, but only because she was trying to be diverse. She wouldn't dare read anything like that. She preferred romance novels.
