Jane worked until almost lunchtime, professionally answering all the incoming phone calls and using the copier machine, just like always. She liked it when one of the other lawyers (Ron Morton) stared at her butt when she bent down to retrieve her finished copies. She purposely kept her knees straight as she bent low making her butt stick out nice and round. She knew he was looking. She felt guilty. But it made her hot, imagining what he was thinking about her. She felt her vagina getting wet between her legs. She felt sick inside and tried to think about something else. But whatever she tried never really helped. The thing was, she liked it, if that made any sense.
Jon walked down the hall and met up with Karyn. They were heading to lunch.
"So, anything?" he asked.
"Nope. Nothing interesting. It's just a normal school day," Karyn said.
"Yeah, I didn't notice anything either."
Karyn stopped suddenly.
"What is it?" Jon asked.
"Are you sure that whatever you think will happen will happen here at school?"
"Well, I assumed it would be here. It wouldn't be interesting unless I noticed it, right?"
"Not necessarily. I think if anyone noticed it, it would interesting, not just you, or me, for that matter."
"Do you know what you're saying? Something weird could be happening across town and we wouldn't even know it."
"That's exactly what I'm saying," Karyn said. "But ... how do you know that it has to be in town? It could be happening across the entire world."
Jon shook his head. "The stone has a range, remember?"
"Oh, yeah. Well, at least that'll keep it isolated, whatever it is."
Suddenly, the hallway started to get really crowded, as students headed towards the cafeteria.
"We better get to lunch. I don't want to be last in line again," Jon said.
Karyn nodded and then they headed to the cafeteria with everyone else.
Laura pulled the cookies out of the oven and breathed in the pleasant smell. She smiled, thinking how much Meagan will love these. She dropped them all into a plastic container, and after making sure she was as presentable as possible, she headed over to her neighbor's house.
