Suddenly, Jon found himself in a strange place. He seemed to be surrounded by glass, and he couldn't feel his body at all. Peering out through the glass, he saw a dark cavernous room. Flashes of electricity illuminated various high-tech equipment scattered here and there.
Where am I? Jon wondered. I feel like a bug in a jar.
Then, his view was interrupted by a huge face leaning over him. Huge sinister mad scientist goggles obscured half the face, and a heavy cloak obscured the rest of the person's body. If Jon could scream, he would have done so.
Even warped by the curved glass, the face's grin was obvious. "Hello, Jon. That is your name, right? Nice to meet you. It's so kind of you to be doing me this favor. It's such a rare thing that one gets to infiltrate Superhero High. Confused? That's alright. You'll have plenty of time to figure it all out. And without a body, you'll have no distractions. In the meantime, I must be going. Wouldn't want to miss your arrival, would I."
The figure walked over to a strange pod and climbed inside. "Oh, and don't worry about your companions. I'll take care of them soon enough. I can't have anyone noticing anything amiss, after all. Goodbye, Jon. Enjoy your stay in my modest lair. When I've achieved my goal, I might just return and get you out of there. That is, if I remember." The mysterious villain laughed maniacally before pulling the pod door shut.
Machinery hummed to life. There was a flash, and after that, silence.
Jon could only float in his prison, terrified and more than a little claustrophobic. Hours slipped by with no change in his circumstance. Soon enough, he lost track of time.
