Jon took a deep breath and prepared for the worst. There was an undramatic pop and suddenly he was somewhere else.
"Okay everyone give a big Stoneview Elementary welcome for Stacy," announced what he took to bee this school's principal. Everyone started clapping to Jon's confusion.
"This way sweetie," smiled a teacher, guiding him off the pad. Belatedly he realised the name of the school - it was where his brother went! Even more belatedly he realised that 'Stacy' was now him. The teacher bent down and asked "Can you tell me your name sweetie?"
He cocked his head "Stacy McMillan," he replied. Of course it was what else? No wait, that wasn't right, he was Jon Gibsen.
"Good," nodded the teacher, "The switch includes a mental stamp so that you identify with your new body's name - it'll make it easier to adapt." Stacy looked up at her and nodded, the name already sounded like a natural fit.
"Next up," announced the principal, drawing Stacy's attention, "Mikey Gibsen." Stacy's jaw dropped in shock - he was now Sarah McMillan's sister and the next person on the pad was his brother Mikey. The question was would it be Sarah or Karyn he swapped with?
