Rosaria's wish could be granted in several different ways. There was no outward indication of what had changed, so Bethany quickly grabbed the stone from Rosaria's hand.
"What did you do?" she asked. "That was a very careless wish, it could be granted any number of ways, some of which might affect many other people.
"I, um, I wasn't thinking, I just said what was in my heart, I'm sorry," Rosaria stammered.
Bethany held up the stone and stated "I wish to know just how Rosaria's wish was granted." The stone burned bright once more, and suddenly Bethany knew that all records of a swap between Rosaria and Karyn had been erased, and no one besides who was at the exchange ceremony (besides the exchange students themselves) remember a 3rd student stepping on the platform. As far as all the records showed and what observers recalled, only 2 students swapped bodies with students from West Texas High that day, Jon and Sarah.
