While Bethany and Jon were enjoying their new lives, Karyn and Sarah didn't fare nearly as well. Coming from poor families, they each had to work after school. Sarah went back to the family hog farm, where he spent the night taking care of the pigs and cleaning the farm buildings. Bethany could've wished for something that would benefit Jon more long term, but he was still selfish enough to want to reap the benefits once the year was over.
