One of the boys sitting across the table looked at him. "Are you ..."
"Supposed to be a boy?" Jon finished his sentence. "Yes. You?"
"Girl," the boy said. "What's your name? You look familiar."
"Jon Madison. You?"
"Ellen Jackson," the boy answered. Jon knew Ellen from some of his classes. It was so weird to see her looking like a guy. But it was probably equally as weird to see himself looking like a girl. "How ... how is this happening to us?"
"I don't know," Jon replied. It was a lie, of course. Or maybe more like a half-truth. He knew this had something to do with the wish he made, but he didn't know how the stone justified what had happened to them.
