As Steve tried to comprehend what Ms. Fletcher had done to him, a girl walked into the nurse's office and straight towards him. He recognized her as Nadine Ferguson, a staunch religious girl who openly condemned Steve's actions and behavior towards girls. He always remembered her curling her lip towards him, spitting on him and his way of life, calling him a sinner again and again. He always found her to be pathetically hopeless. She was probably a virgin, and probably would be for a while. She had a certain judgmental attitude that made her a total turnoff. And her looks weren't all that great either. She was the type of girl Steve stayed away from. And now, here she was walking into the nurse's office ... with a grin on her face.
"I'm glad to see you're okay," she said to Steve. "Tina and Paul were worried. But I reassured them that you're in the Lord's hands."
Oh, great, Steve thought. Ms. Fletcher didn't just turn me into a prim and proper girl, but also a religious freak.
