Athena left the bathroom just as the bell rang again. And everyone in the school suddenly stopped and listened.
Then everyone resumed their day.
Athena was glad that she wasn't queasy anymore. She missed her entire first class by being in the bathroom.
She didn't even remember what really happened. No one did, not after the bell rang.
Kyla looked annoyed at the two bitchy cheerleader girls Tiffany and Amber, as they stood up from their desks and exited the room. They did nothing but chatter away about fashion and boys during the entire time in class. Oh, they were keeping their voices down (so the teacher wouldn't catch them), but since they were seated so close to her, Kyla was so easily annoyed by it.
When Jay tried to leave the classroom, he was inadvertently tripped by none other than Chris Morgan, who then laughed at him with some the other guys. Jon watched the whole thing.
I guess whatever was interesting is over, Jon thought.
But he couldn't be more wrong.
After everyone went to their lockers, talked to their friends, got roughed up or teased by their enemies, they all went to their second period class, as normal.
And once they got there, the second period opening bell rang, indicating that second period had begun. But, as the bell rang, everyone and everything stopped suddenly, just like before. And when things resumed, things were different.
