The girl could be seen saying something, but couldn't be heard at that distance. Then she said something again.
Suddenly Jon's cell phone rang. He flipped it open and the name that showed upon the phone was "Madison Jones," which was someone he had never heard of.
The girl had a phone in her hand. Job's phone was continuing to ring. He answered it and a strange girl answered. "Hello?" said Jon in reply as he watched the girl speak into her phone.
"Hi," replied Madison. "Jon, look, we need to talk. I think I messed up a wish. Could we meet somewhere?"
"You messed up a wish? Don't tell me that it's a magic stone you got from your grandmother. Because when I saw your name it occurred to me. Jon Madison. Madison Jones. You're some bizarro version of me, right?"
"I could say the same about you!" Jon could see the Goth boy watching Madison. The boy said something and Jon could hear Madison say over the phone "You wouldn't believe me if I told you, Jamie."
"All right," said Jon. "Put your phone to your ear and I'll make a wish." He could see the girl hold up the phone and then he said, "I wish we can talk in private."
Instantly, the girl disappeared. "Where did you--" Jon was about to ask, but from behind him came Madison's voice. "I'm right here!"
"I guess I figured out half of this," said Jon, "but I want to know the whole story."
"Well, you're in luck," said Madison. "I'm going to tell you. I was sitting at home and I wished that something interesting would happen."
"So did I!" replied Jon.
"Let me talk! As I was saying, I made a wish that something interesting would happen...."
