"It's not serious is it?" Cinder asked, worried.
"No, it's nothing like that!" Lilith shook her head. "He's a witch."
"What? Jon's a witch?" She turned away. "Why didn't he say something?"
"Honey, you know that male witches are usually in the dark about their heritage. He probably just doesn't know," Lilith said.
"But ... his mom. I saw his mom. She's not green-skinned like us."
"I've heard cases where the gene can skip a generation or two. It's possible that his mother isn't even a witch at all. However, it's quite possible that his grandmother is a witch, or even his grandfather."
"Should I tell him?" Cinder asked.
"That should be up to you. But I'd advise against it. At least until you know he can be fully trusted."
"I trust him, Mom," Cinder said.
Lilith smiled, then said "I'm sure you do. Now go get ready."
And at that, Cinder nodded, then ran upstairs.
