"Karyn, stop!" Jon yelled.
She looked at him, startled. "What?"
"Karyn, there's something really wrong here. And I think it has something to do with the stone. I made a wish with it right before I fell into my coma."
"You think your wish caused your coma?" Karyn asked. With her attention on something other than pleasing Jon, she almost sounded like she was back to normal. There was no flirtatiousness in her voice, only concern. "Why?"
"I wished for something interesting to happen," Jon explained. "I guess the stone thought that my coma would be interesting." He paused. "Well, that, and the power."
"Power? What power?"
"Karyn, you know what the stone can do ..."
"Do I ever," she said, hefting up her bigger boobs with her hands. She smiled. "That was, like, the best wish ever."
"Uh huh," Jon said, a bit dumbly. He remembered how Karyn hated the fact that she wished for bigger breasts and blond hair, but now she seemed fine with it. Okay, maybe a little more than just fine. She almost sounded like the wish was made on purpose and not by accident. This new Karyn was definitely sexier, but she was a bit on the ditzy side. He'd rather have his original friend back.
"Sorry," Karyn said. "Uh ... what were you saying?"
"I was trying to explain my new power."
"Oh yeah," she said, giggling.
Jon took a breath. "Whenever I get aroused, reality changes around me."
"Really? I haven't noticed anything different," Karyn said.
"No one notices but me."
Karyn looked at him oddly.
"Don't give me that look. I told you. You know what the stone can do. You know it can change people's memories, if they don't hear the wish. I was alone in my room when I made the wish that put me in a coma. I'm the only one who heard my wish."
"So, what's supposed to be different?" Karyn asked.
"Well, you're different."
"Really?" she asked, not quite believing him. She didn't feel any different, or even look any different, except for the results of her boob and hair wish, that was.
"You never would have dressed up like a sexy nurse," Jon said. "Or tried to seduce me. We were friends, Karyn. Nothing more."
She frowned. "That doesn't sound all that great. It kind of sounds dull. I'm glad that reality doesn't exist anymore."
Then you're not gonna like what's coming next, Jon thought, as he moved past her towards his bed.
"What are you doing?" she asked.
"I'm looking for the stone. I was over here when I made my wish. It might have fallen on the floor or something," he said, as he crawled around on the floor, looking under his bed and around his furniture. Once I get the stone, maybe I can return things to normal, he thought. He didn't say that part out loud. Karyn already expressed that she wanted things to stay as they were. If she knew what he was planning, she might try to stop him.
