After Zoe ran out into the parking lot, she looked around. Besides cars and trucks and minivans, the parking area looked fairly deserted. Which was good, because she really didn't want to run into any more trouble. She got plenty of it in the mall.
As she ran home, however, she heard the distinct sound of girls giggling. She turned and saw a group of bimbos wandering around near a house just down the street, and made sure to not go anywhere near them.
When she got home, she closed and locked the front door. She wasn't going to let any of those brainless sex-crazed bimbos get into her house.
Walking further into the house and up the stairs, she sighed. Some of that was relief, that she had made it home safely. But most of it was the regret she was feeling about her family. Sure, they never really got along all that well, especially since she was part of the Goth crowd, but they were still her family. And now because of this stupid disease, she may never see them again. At least, not in the same way.
She opened the door to Jon's bedroom and walked inside.
"Now, where's that stone Jon was talking about?" she asked aloud.
