Wendi ran--until she noticed two people off in the distance, a man and a woman. Slowing down, she approached them.

"Hello," she said in Spanish. "Thank god... someone's around..."

"Young lady," said the man in Spanish. "Have you seen two twin girls around here? They're quite a bit younger than you."

"What do they look like? What are their names?"

"Oh, they're about so tall... long hair." The man raised his hand to Wendi's shoulder. Their names are Lucia and Luisa. They ran off, they said they wanted to go see the dig but it's too dangerous for them."

"Uhh...." Wendi thought. Those were obviously supposed to be parents of the girls in the new reality. She must still be within the wish range, since otherwise they wouldn't think they're the new girls' parents. "They went that way," she said, pointing to where DeMorrell had been transformed.

Then she got a sudden idea. "Wait a minute. What's your name?"

"I'm Lucius DeMorrell," said the man. "And my wife is Elena," indicating the woman.

"Hmm," said Wendi. "Lucius DeMorrell Sr, I assume?"

"Why would I be Senior? I don't have any sons."

"Oh, right. Do you happen to know any English?"

"No, can't say I do."

"Could you do me a favor anyway?"

"Uh, okay."

Wendi got a piece of paper and pencil out of her backpack and then wrote something on it. "Could you hold this and read this? Just pronouncing the syllables?" She handed him the staff, then the paper.

Slowly the man read out the English words. "I wish you would turn into the old DeMorrell with his name and ability to use the staff."

She had to look away, and there was a flash. It had worked! She didn't know the wording of the wish DeMorrell used to make him the only one who could use the staff. But she wondered if he had done so by name, rather than just saying 'I'. It seemed he did. That meant that his father--Lucius DeMorrell Senior--who now no longer was 'Senior' anyway--could also use it. And now because of the wish to become him, she could use it too.

"Is that all?" said the man. He didn't even notice anything strange had happened. Of course, he may have heard the syllables he spoke, but he didn't understand them... and that must count as not hearing them.

"It's all!" she replied and ran off until she was out of sight.

"I wish that the girls that DeMorrell became would keep their memory but would have the desires of and act like normal girls their age."

The staff flashed--now that she was DeMorrell, she could use the staff.

"I wish that Jon, Karyn, and the transformation machine were here."

As soon as Jon appeared, she ordered her into the machine, then used it to change Jon back to a teenage boy.

"I wish that when Jon and Karyn became DeMorrell's minions, they became minions of the original male DeMorrell, and that the control is permanently broken since DeMorrell isn't in that form any more."

Jon began to blush from his experiences, embarassed, but Wendi still had a few more wishes to make.

"I wish that when DeMorrell said that nobody but him could make wishes on me, since he considered everyone except himself to be nobodies, everyone can make wishes."

"Whew," she said. "I wish I was back to Wendi, and that Jon and Karyn remembered me being Wendi." (Author's note: remember, way back? The stone's form can always be changed.)

"I think that's all," she said. The staff, now useless, she dropped on the ground, and she began to kick dirt over it.

"I never want to do that again!" said Jon.

"Me neither!" exclaimed Karyn, kicking some more dirt over the staff.

"Let's go home," she said.

"Yeah, let's," said Jon.

But suddenly, a figure materialized in front of them. It was an older man, easily recognizeable--Jon's grandfather!
