Karyn was expecting to just see Jon, probably playing a game on his computer. But what she saw instead was Jon leaning over an attractive girl, who was laying on his bed.
"Who's that?" she said, immediately.
"Her? Oh, that's ... um, Wendi," Jon answered.
"Wendi?" She looked at her. "I don't think I've ever seen her before. Does she go to our school?"
"No, I don't," Wendi said. "Because I'm ..." She got cut off by Jon.
"She's just visiting. From out of town."
"Oh," Karyn said. "When did you meet her?"
"Very recently," Jon said, before Wendi could say anything. "Listen, Karyn. Could you get some drinks for all of us? I'm getting kind of thirsty."
"Okay," she answered hesitantly. Then, after taking one last glance at Wendi, she left to get drinks from the kitchen.
"Why won't you tell Karyn that I'm the wishing stone?" Wendi asked Jon, after Karyn had left.
"Well, for one, she'll think that it's weird that I turned you into a girl."
"Why not make a wish then? To make it easier, I mean."
"That's a good idea."
Meanwhile, in the kitchen, Karyn poured drinks for Jon, Wendi, and herself. Jon's mom walked in and Karyn asked how long Wendi was going to stay there. But she displayed a look of confusion and said "Who's Wendi?"
