So, Jon found himself back on the road, except this time he was in Karyn's body and he was accompanied by his sister Zoe, who was in Sarah's body.
"What were you running from?" Jon/Karyn asked her.
"What do you mean?"
"You were running through the corn field, screaming. What were you running away from?"
Zoe stopped walking. "I'm not sure. I don't really remember."
"It must have been really traumatic. Hopefully you'll eventually remember. It might be important."
In the distance, they heard another boom.
"I wish I knew what that sound was," Zoe/Sarah said.
"You and me, both. I've been hearing it ever since I got to this place. Sometimes it's so loud, the ground shakes."
They were silent for the next half an hour, until Zoe/Sarah stopped walking. "What's that?" She pointed up the road. There was something moving just before the horizon. Jon had already gone through something like this, but he felt that this time it was different.
"Let's go check it out," Jon/Karyn said. The picked up their pace as they moved closer to the movement up ahead.
