Jon reached in and pulled out ... nothing.
"There's nothing."
"Nothing?" Sarah asked. "How could there be nothing?" She grabbed the package from Jon and shook it, trying to dump out whatever was inside. But nothing came out of it. It really was empty.
"Let me see it," Karyn said. Sarah gave it to her.
"What are you thinking?" Jon asked.
"Hold on." Karyn looked into the box and thought she saw something drawn on one of the interior sides of it. She carefully ripped the box, so that the six interior sides of it were all flat. Then she held it up to Jon and Sarah.
It was a map.
"What's it a map of?" Sarah asked.
"I'm guessing it's a map of the place we're in," Karyn replied.
Karyn put it down on the bed and they all studied it.
