Jon went into Zoe's bedroom and attempted to explain everything to her. But she wasn't there. Then Jon remembered that his sister was staying with a friend of hers over the weekend. They had plans to go see some rock concert or something.
Jon became worried about this. If he couldn't explain the situation to her then she could just accidentally change him in some way.
He went back to his bedroom.
"How did she take it?" Karyn asked.
"I forgot that she's not here."
"You can just tell her later," Karyn said, not understanding that Zoe already had control over Jon, whether she was informed of it or not.
