"Why do you have to?" asked Karyn.
"Huh?" replied Stacy.
"You have the stone," said Karyn. "You can make wishes now. Just wish that Zoe would treat you nicely."
"Good point! I wish that Zoe would only transform me out of a sincere desire to help me or be nice to me."
They came back out, only to run across Zoe just before leaving for school. Hoping the wish worked, Jon said "What's up, Zoe?"
"Are you okay?" asked Zoe.
"Um, except for the tongue piercing," said Stacy.
"Come on, Stacy, I made sure it wouldn't disrupt your speech." Of course! Zoe didn't hear the wish that made her able to speak with the piercing. So she believed it was normal and didn't know it happened because of a wish. In this case, Zoe believed that Stacy had always been able to speak with the piercing.
Zoe concentrated and the piercing vanished. It was settled; Zoe was being nicer. "Okay," she said, "now it's time for the rest," said Zoe.
"Rest?" asked Stacy.
"The rest of the transformation we agreed on, of course!" answered Zoe. "You can't just look like a girl."
"I can't?" said Stacy. She was confused, but realized that if Zoe was nicer to her, she might have made different plans than Jon remembered her making in reality.
"You told me that you wouldn't be able to act like a girl. Just wish that until you change back, you're mentally changed in the way I have in mind."
Stacy, not sure what to do, finally did make the wish. "I wish that until I'm a guy, I'll be mentally changed in the way Zoe is thinking of." She paused and said "I don't feel any different."
"You won't, yet" said Zoe. "You'll just want to act like a girl in specific situations. It's the best way to find out what it's like to be a girl!"
Stacy waited, but Zoe wouldn't explain anything more.
At school, everyone thought Stacy had always been Stacy. Still, everything seemed normal, until one of the mental changes took effect....
